*** WARNING ***

Garage doors use torsion or extension springs to counter balance the weight of the door. Never under any circumstances attempt to adjust, repair, remove or install any spring assembly, bottom fixtures, spring anchor, cables, pulleys, or any other component under spring tension. Contact a professional for help. Failure to do so could result in serious injury or death.

Maintenance of Your Mid-America Door Garage Door

The hardware and door components have been engineered and designed for many years of continuous operation, however; it is a good idea to periodically check for:

  • Loose bolts on hinges
  • Bent hinges
  • Bent or broken rollers
  • Track brackets bolts
  • Visually inspect cable for frays
  • Visually inspect bottom bracket for wear
If you notice that bolts or any other components are broken, contact your local installer for service.

Lubrication:

Using light lubricating film or houshold oil, it is a good idea once a year to lubricate the following:

  • Lifting lug on the bottom fixture
  • Pulley bearings
  • Steel rollers
  • Torsion spring (entire spring)
  • DO NOT lubricate the track or nylon rollers
